Back from Fringe! There’s plenty of catching up to do, but at least I’ve come back to some good news from Urban ReThink . I’d been pestering programming director Pat Greene about the lack of Bloomsday events around town last year, but it looks like they’re filling the gap in 2012: UCF lit professor John King will host a night at UT to celebrate James Joyce’s “Ulysses” from 6-9 p.m. June 16, including readings from Orlando authors and (of course) some tasty Guinness on hand. OK, it may not be the full day of Joyce-mania they typically practice in Dublin, but (speaking as one who never made it all the way through “Ulysses”) it’s a fine start for Orlando.
